Video: Joe Smith and Lew Buchanan on the Nukeproof Mega

Nukeproof Mega AM 2013
The web’s awash with mountain bike films in sun-drenched countries on dusty trails, but there’s something we love about good old-fashioned trail riding through the mud, gunge and rain of a typical UK Autumn.

Watch Team CRC/Nukeproof riders Joe Smith and Lew Buchanan ripping up their local trails on the Nukeproof Mega, and get the lowdown on the updated Mega TR and Mega AM 2013 versions of the bike too.

Nukeproof Mega 2013

The Nukeproof Mega has been a hugely popular bike since its release, and we’re expecting it to be even more sought-after in 2013 when two new versions of the bike go on sale: the short travel TR (130mm rear travel) and the longer travel AM (160mm rear travel).

Designed and built using the same concept as the original Mega platform – straightforward enough to climb and stunningly satisfying on the way down – the Mega AM and Mega TR will be available in both frame-only and full bike packages.

Nukeproof Mega TR 2013

The Mega TR complete bike (€ 3,799.99 £2,999.99) will be all you need for trail centre riding, general trails and singletrack shredding! It’ll come with tried and tested components including a RockShox Monarch RT3 rear shock, RockShox Revelation RL Solo Air Tapered fork, Truvativ Descendant chainset, SRAM X9 shifter and derailleur and Avid Elixir 5 brakes. Nukeproof Generator TR wheels and a RockShox Reverb adjustable seatpost will finish off the package.

Nukeproof Mega AM 2013

If you’re looking for something with a bit more bounce then the Mega AM could be the right tool for the big-travel job. There’ll be a top-end Pro build (€ 4,599.99 £3,599.99) with all the bells and whistles, including a Cane Creek Double Barrel shock, RockShox Lyrik RC2 DH fork, Truvatic Descendant chainset, SRAM X0 shifting and brakes and the enduro-essential RockShox Reverb seatpost.

The more affordable Comp (€ 3,299.99 £2,599.99) will have a RockShox Monarch rear shock, RockShox Lyrik RC Solo Air Tapered fork, Truvativ Stylo chainset, Avid Elixir 3 brakes and shifting courtesy of SRAM X7.
